Last Weekend of the summer
On Labor Day weekend, really do not think to say goodbye to summer season than together with one last bbq, and what claims summer much better than burgers? (Also for folks who still use our grills deep into winter season).
I am not referring to those pre-made, pre-packaged, frozen-thawed-refrozen meats discs. I am talking about a real, honest-to-goodness, freshly-ground hamburger, just how nature designed.
Alright, I can hear you now: they will be a lot of work, they create too much of a mess, I do not have the fancy equipment you need as well as, they flavor just like the burgers I make with that big lump of pre-ground meat.
Here is the easiest and the best recipe of burgers:
You need:
3 pounds ground chuck
1 pound country pork sausage
1 tablespoon salt
1 teaspoon pepper
1 teaspoon garlic powder
Worcestershire sauce for rubbing the meat into burgers
You need to make your patties of a half pound each. Maintain everything cold and dimple them in the centre. Since there is pork in the mix, everything must be done medium to medium well. Maintain your brewski near by while cooking – the larger fat content as a result of sausage causes some flaming.
